The Copart Reality
Why Copart Collections GO WRONG.
Copart is not a normal used-car auction. Many lots are damaged, immobilised, no-key, locked in gear, missing wheels or unsuitable for cheap generic transport. The wrong choice of collection can turn a repairable purchase into a more expensive problem.
Non-Runners Dragged Incorrectly
Dragging a vehicle that will not roll, steer or select neutral can damage suspension, steering components, tyres and driveline parts before it even leaves the yard.
No-Key Lots Mishandled
No-key vehicles can be locked, immobilised or stuck with the steering lock engaged. Loading needs planning, equipment and patience, not guesswork.
Slots & Release Missed
Copart collection depends on correct timing, release status and site procedure. Missed windows create delays, storage charges and unnecessary frustration.
Cheap Transport Cuts Corners
The cheapest transporter is often cheap because the risk is being pushed back on to you. Salvage transport needs the correct vehicle, equipment and accountability.
We treat Copart collections as salvage transport, not basic car delivery. That means we look at the vehicle condition, collection site, access constraints and delivery address before the job is dispatched.
For non-runners, no-key lots, damaged vehicles, Cat S and Cat N purchases, the difference is not just speed. It is whether the vehicle is loaded and delivered without making the damage worse.
You get a fixed price, a direct operator, correct equipment and a team that understands Copart yard procedures. No marketplace. No driver bidding. No vague promises.
Already won the lot? Use the pricing tool above, then send us your Copart lot number, buyer details and delivery address. We confirm the job, collect from Copart and deliver to your home, garage, bodyshop or dealer yard.
Built for Salvage Buyers
Copart Is Where Collection Quality Matters.
Copart buyers are usually not moving clean retail vehicles. They are buying insurance write-offs, repair projects, parts donors, accident-damaged vehicles, stolen recovered cars, no-key lots and non-runners.
That is why this page is not built around generic towing. It is built around the exact risks Copart buyers face after winning a lot: release, loading, damage, timing, storage fees and getting the vehicle to the right place without excuses.
Winch & Non-Runner Equipped
Wheel skates, winch loading and correct restraint for vehicles that do not start, steer or roll cleanly.
No-Key Vehicle Handling
We plan for locked steering, immobilisers, gear selection issues and awkward loading before the truck arrives.
Copart Release Process
We work around collection slots, buyer release, site queues and handover requirements so the job moves properly.
Delivered Where Work Happens
Home address, body shop, mechanic, storage compound, dealer yard, or preparation centre. Trade and private buyers covered.

Bought a non-runner at Copart Sandy and was dreading the collection. MJC booked the slot, handled all the paperwork at the yard, and delivered to my garage in South London. Vehicle arrived exactly as it left the site. No drama.

For Copart Traders
Buying Multiple Lots? Do Not Quote Them One by One.
If you are buying several Copart lots from the same operation centre, the calculator is not the best tool. Multi-lot work needs proper routing, loading order, truck capacity planning and delivery sequencing.
MJC can dispatch two flatbed trucks, or more, with beavertails to the same compound on the same day, moving at least four suitable vehicles in a single coordinated run while the rest of the fleet continues with normal London recovery coverage.
For repeat Copart buyers, body shops and salvage traders, we can agree on trade pricing, preferred communication routes and regular collection handling.

Frequently Asked Questions
BEFORE YOU CALL.
What is what3words, and why is it useful in a breakdown?
what3words is a global location system that divides the world into 3-metre squares, each with a unique three-word address (e.g. ///hush.lifted.along for London Bridge). In a breakdown, this is far more precise than a postcode — which can cover an entire street — and more reliable than a WhatsApp pin, which can drift by up to 50 metres in central London. MJC Auto Recovery uses what3words as its primary dispatch location tool. The same system is used by the UK Police, Fire, and Ambulance services.
How does what3words differ from sharing a live location on WhatsApp?
what3words is a fixed technical address — WhatsApp Live Location is a dynamic social tool. WhatsApp Live Location relies on continuous mobile data and can drift by up to 50 metres in built-up areas or under motorway bridges. A what3words address is fixed: once you read us those three words, that 3-metre square remains the target even if your phone battery dies or your data signal drops entirely.
Do I need a data signal for what3words to work?
No, the official what3words app functions offline using your phone’s built-in GPS. This is a significant advantage over WhatsApp or Google Maps, which require an active data connection to load map tiles. If you are in a “dead zone” or a rural area with poor reception, you can still read your three words to us over a standard voice call.
How does what3words differ from sharing a "Live Location" on WhatsApp?
Precision and reliability. While WhatsApp “Live Location” is useful, it is a social tool that relies on continuous power and data and can “drift” 50+ metres in built-up London areas or under motorway bridges. what3words is a fixed, technical address. Once you give us those three words, that 3-metre square remains the target even if your phone battery dies or your data signal drops out.
How do I find my what3words address if I’m stranded?
Open the free what3words app and wait for the GPS to settle. The app will display your unique 3-word address at the top of the screen (what3words shows you how). Simply read those words to our team, or share them via WhatsApp/SMS. By using this system, you are helping MJC maintain its 35-minute average response time across London and the M25.
Why is what3words the professional choice over a WhatsApp Pin?
It eliminates human error during high-stress situations. Digital “pins” can be accidentally dropped in the wrong place if you scroll the map. what3words provides a unique, spoken address that our dispatchers and operators can verify immediately. It is the same system used by the Police, Fire, and Ambulance services, and MJC adopts the same high standard to ensure a faster, safer rescue.
Can you find me on the M25 or a "Smart Motorway" using what3words?
Yes, this is where the technology is vital for your safety. Motorway marker posts are often obscured by rain or darkness. what3words allows us to see exactly which side of the carriageway you are on and which junction is closest. This prevents our recovery truck from heading in the wrong direction – a mistake that can cost an hour of time in a dangerous live-lane environment.
What do I do if the what3words button doesn't work?
First, check that you have allowed location access — tap the padlock icon in your browser’s address bar and set Location to Allow, then try again. Also, check for any other location privacy settings you may have switched on for your device. If you still have difficulty, call us directly on 07522 964 566 and describe your surroundings. Our operators are experienced at locating vehicles using landmarks, road signs, and junction numbers when technology isn’t cooperating.
